Economics run the world. If Starbucks only used organic milk and had to pay "fair prices" then your cup of coffee would cost about 3 times what you are paying for it. Organic is great, but the cost for things that are organic make it so a very limited segment of the population can afford it in mass quantities. I hear that argument all the time, and to me it doesn't have a leg to stand on. It's what Monsanto, Proctor & Gamble, etc. want us to believe. Most people have been brainwashed to believe this rhetoric, and they in turn become apologists for the very same companies that are poisoning them just so they can turn a massive profit. Furthermore, one does not have to buy all organic. Lots of that stuff is mislabeled junk food anyways. It's about who certifies the food organic that matters. But, if y'all want to know about that, it's on you. I'm not doing your homework for you. Especially if all you're gonna do is insult me. It's not rhetoric when it has an economic basis to stand on. If there is a higher cost to produce a good then there will be a higher cost to purchase the good. You can buy socks from walmart cheaply, or you can buy socks from a little old granny who knits them herself. Guess which one will be cheaper? It takes a lot more effort to grow crops that are organic. More effort plus less supply means that cost will go up. That is simple supply and demand. You can crow more crops cheaper if you use pesticides and hormones. Is the end product the same? Of course not. It isn't like you are going to change my mind and you seem pretty set in your beliefs.

That "article" provides zero sources of their claims.
Starbucks stopped using rBGH milk in 2008.

That "article" provides zero sources of their claims. Starbucks stopped using rBGH milk in 2008. I've seen that, and have also seen claims that they didn't stop using rBGH milk in 2008. But, I am glad you're doing your homework. Maybe in your guys' efforts to prove me wrong you will find the evidence on your own. And the whole organic food debate isn't even what I was talking about, don. You're the first one to mention the word "organic" in this thread. I even mentioned that not all food that claims to be organic is trustworthy. That's an entirely different topic than fair trade. And fuck the economics if it means employing slave labor so soccer moms can sip a cheaper latte. That should be higher grounds to boycott that scum imo.

www.bodyfueling.net/Coffeeletter.htmldon't shoot the messenger. What y'all put into your bodies is your own business. I just feel I have to at least say something, or I'm not doing my job as a conscientious adult. You're body is your temple. And, the old adage is true. You are what you eat. lol at conscientious adult.....We can all die at anytime...I'll eat what I want thanks.

The worst part is this notion that anything organic must be good for you and anything that isn't must be bad.

Last night we had fried chicken, black-eyed peas with ham, collard greens with hog jowl Then we did two cornbreads. One was regular cornbread with pork cracklings, the other was jiffy cornbread with cheddar cheese and creamed corn mixed in.
