should we make the future picks currently owed in the NBA owed here, (only future firsts, seconds would be a bit absurd)

Yes. If a team gave up some good picks to get a good player, they shouldn't be able to use those to then toss out for an upgrade.

True, Houston did give Lowry for that pick and Lowry should be a solid starter.

lol. you don't penalize teams for real life gm's mistakes. Starting with a shitty team and then not having your pick on top of it is lame.

I'm on the fence with all of this, but I'll go with the poll results
Could maybe give certain teams extra year(s) on their CY to compensate

and to simplify it, instead of it being top 12 protected or such, just make it lotto.

I think its the best way to start a new league. Gets guys way more invested in their team.

I'm really leaning either way. I think you should probably just keep the picks where they are, but I can't really argue against moving them to where they would be IRL. I can't even argue against doing a draft at this point. It'd be cool with the current rosters to draft but I wouldn't be surprised if everyone involved isn't interested in doing it again.

only threw it around as an option because DBW had previously mentioned it. can totally understand if it's not wanted though.

The whole point of making this file from scratch was to do a current roster league.

not really huge on taking away picks from teams, you wouldn't normally do it. is kyle lowry really worth a lotto pick here? nba value and fbb value is a different thing

I like the idea of current rosters, so meh at a draft
would like to see what my guys are rated though

Yes Kyle Lowry is worth a lotto pick here
The ratings are low across the boards

I think basic protections of top 5 and lotto protected are all that need to be assessed.

as soon as i looked at lowry, i realized he was really hardly a step down from deron williams as far as strictly looking at ratings is concerned
