well if we're going to move owed picks, I have no problem if we keep the protections. I can deal with a top-3 protected pick.

understandable. its not like we can't post all the stipulations in an owed picks thread. its not THAT hard to keep track of as long as the GMs care to pay attention to it. anyways, if we're gonna send the picks away, we should keep the stipulations under how they were traded too imo

We can keep stipulations within reason

Instead of top 12 just make it lotto and be done with it.

Like for the Rockets pick the Hawks own. Just make it lotto protected in 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016.

An interesting scenario is what to do with the picks the Bobcats own.

Bobcats pick probably has a ton of value so the team which owns it should get something imo.

The only team that owns a Bobcat first is the Bulls. (top 12 protected in 2013, top 10 protected in 2014, top 8 protected in 2015, unprotected in 2016)
I was talking about the two picks the Bobcats own: Bobcats receive the Blazers' 2013 first-round pick (top 12 protected in the 2013, 2014, and 2015, and unprotected in 2016)
Bobcats receive the Pistons' 2013 first-round pick (top 14 protected in the 2013 draft, top 8 in 2014, top 1 in 2015, and unprotected in 2016)

auction them off maybe? or just give em back, iono. how did they receive those picks? surely they didn't give up a good player for them, don't think the bobcats have ever had one of those.

If this does happen, just forfeit my first pick that is outside the lotto, or my 2016, whichever comes first

ya it'll be tougher to keep track of all this with every single pick protected, didnt realize it was to this extent. either way, if its what the league wants, it can be figured out.

Don't think it would be that difficult to implement tbh It wouldn't. People would just need to be cautious about trading away picks. The only downside I see to this is it would limit trading of picks.

no, would really just take a bit of discussion to decide how to do a few certain picks. if we have a cash system, we could easily auction off those bobcats picks.

I think it really hurts the teams that have added future picks from other teams and have less talent on their roster currently because of it.
