Absolutely not. Tolkien created a whole world with its history from beginning to end. He laid the groundwork for the majority of fictions that we have seen since his days. A literary genius, linguistic expert, and THE best fictional writer of the century.
Obviously I am biased, but it's just amazing what he was able to do in his creation of Middle Earth. So much detail. He created three new languages by taking some Welsh, Finnish, and and Old English. They are their own languages.... Let that sink in... Genius.
