ehh, you wont have a problem bringing back Kyrie, no player in their right mind is going to take the Qualifying offer for one year to leave, so you have him as a restricted FA, match whatever deal he gets, easy

I would rather see barnes at 4, Kyrie is your primary ball handler, taking the ball out of his hands and putting it in Waiters is a recipe for disaster

I was anti-Barnes before the draft but ok and yet Waiters has been terrible, so far, even in Summer League, I mean, shouldnt any player be able to dominate Summer League and preseason? since the guys are scrubs?

I'm as anti Barnes as anyone, but he'd of made more sense than Waiters.
The knock on Barnes has always been and likely will always be that he doesn't work well with the ball in his hands. You already have a guy who will dominate the ball, Barnes would have fit perfectly with him.
My issue with Barnes was people were hyping him as a superstar. He was never going to be great, but there's every reason to believe he'll be an efficient SF who can space the floor, get out on the break, and defend well. If you aren't willing to go project player at 4 (Drummond), than Barnes makes a ton more sense than Waiters.
My biggest issue with Waiters by the way is that he doesn't get to the line nearly enough for a guy with his skillset. And that isn't something that typically changes over time. He profiles as a 6th man scorer type (and not an especially efficient one), and I just can't fathom why a team would pick that at 4.

I could see it making sense in the years where guys like Antonio Davis, Ilgauskas, Magloire and Brad Miller were getting all-star nods. But currently the position is a lot deeper than it's been. Probably the deepest it's been since the 90s. I now patiently await a Cavs fan to yell at me about Big Z. But they are the best player at their position. This is why the nba all-star game is a joke.

But then again, I am a fan of the NBA having position categories for the all-nba team as well so you aren't left with 2 sf's being all-league.
